Vice President, Patient Services, Genesis Medical Center, Davenport/Chief Nurse Executive, Genesis Health System
Areas of Responsibility: Oversight and management of Patient Services division, including Inpatient/Outpatient nursing departments & Continuum Services. Is the Chief Nurse Executive responsible for the clinical practice of nursing throughout the health system.
Bio: Anhalt has been an employee of Genesis for more than 20 years, starting as a bedside nurse on the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Nursing Unit. Her experience also includes Care Coordinator for the Rehab Department, Nurse Manager of the Orthopedic Unit and most recently, Director of Nursing Operations. Anhalt also has held positions as an Outreach Specialist in the former Strategic Development Department and as the Clinical Nursing Supervisor for ORA Orthopedics. Anhalt chairs the Nursing Quality Committee, the Inpatient Access, Convenience & Throughput (ACT) Committee and is a member of a variety of other committees that promote quality and safety at Genesis. As Co-leader of the Firestarters Patient/Customer Loyalty Team, she was instrumental in the development of the Patient/Customer Loyalty Pledge. In addition, she was selected to the 2007 class of 100 Great Iowa Nurses, which recognizes nurses who have made a meaningful and lasting contribution to humanity and their profession and act as mentors to others.
Anhalt holds a bachelor’s degree in Health Science from the University of St. Francis, Joliet, Ill.; a master's in Health Education and Promotion from Western Illinois University, Macomb, Ill.; and a second masters in Nursing from St. Ambrose University, Davenport. Anhalt and husband, Dennis, have three children; one who is a nurse at GMC Illini Campus, another who is an EMT pursing a degree in Health Fitness Management at Iowa State, and a 13 year old at home.
