Vice President, Corporate Communications, Marketing and Advocacy, Genesis Health System
Bio: Croken joined Genesis in 2003, bringing more than 25 years of strategic communication and marketing experience in the consumer technology, entertainment, legal, professional services and political arenas. Prior to joining Genesis, Croken was senior vice president at Edelman Public Relations Worldwide in New York, N.Y., where he managed industry-leading consumer technology accounts, such as Fujifilm. He previously was vice president of corporate communications with Twin Cities-based Norstan, Inc., a global supplier of voice, video and data services. That assignment followed a nearly 15-year-long career at IBM, where he held several key marketing positions, concluding as PR manager for the company's Global Government marketing organization in Washington, D.C.
Areas of Responsibility: Croken oversees all external and internal communication programs, including brand management, marketing, advertising, public relations, "e-presence" programs, media relations, employee communication as well as community relations and sponsorships. Croken also directs Genesis government relations and advocacy programs at the municipal, state and federal levels, and oversees the organization's efforts to monitor and address macro community health needs.
Croken is an attorney and a member of the District of Columbia Bar Association and is an active community volunteer, serving on several community Boards throughout the Quad Cities.
