Jeffrey Cooper
President, DeWitt Operations, Genesis Medical Center, DeWitt 
Areas of Responsibility: Cooper directs the operations of GMC DeWitt, a 13-bed critical-access hospital in DeWitt, Iowa, with a staff of nearly 200 employees. He also leads a Genesis team that provides management services to Mercer County Hospital in Aledo, Ill.
Bio: On the job at GMC DeWitt since 2000, Cooper received the Iowa Hospital Association's Young Executive Achievement Award (2006) for his commitment to quality patient care, the use of information technology to improve patient care and safety, and his role in the financial success of hospital. Before coming to Genesis, Cooper directed the primary care network for the nationally recognized Loyola University Health System, based in Maywood, Ill., where he was responsible for 15 sites, 80 physicians, 200 employees and services including internal medicine, pediatrics and obstetrics and gynecology. At Loyola, he also held the position of Director of Clinical Operations, Specialty Clinics, with operational responsibility for multiple satellite clinics, including medical and surgical clinics, community hospital-based ambulatory care clinics and a satellite cancer center. Prior to his tenure at Loyola, Cooper led ambulatory care services at Hines Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Hines, Illinois. A native of Iowa City, Iowa, Cooper holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Iowa State University in Ames, and a master's in Hospital and Health Administration from the University of Iowa. He, his wife, Amy, and daughters Lauren and Lexy, live in DeWitt.
