Areas of Responsibility: Oversight and management of Patient Services division, including Inpatient/Outpatient nursing departments & Continuum Services. Is the Chief Nurse Executive responsible for the clinical practice of nursing throughout the health system.
Bio: Among her many accomplishments, Pranger helped Genesis Medical Center, Davenport become the first regional hospital to earn Magnet designation for nursing excellence in 2005 and redesignation in 2010. She has received numerous awards and recognition in her successful career, including selection to the inaugural class of the 100 Great Iowa Nurses in 2005. She also is a recipient of the Iowa Organization of Nurse Leaders scholarship. Prior to her current position, Pranger served as Director of Nursing Operations at Genesis Medical Center, Davenport. Her experience also includes managing the Intensive Care and Cardiac Care units and Clinical Support Staff at Genesis predecessor Mercy Hospital from 1982-1994. Pranger holds a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Iowa and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Marycrest University. In addition, she graduated from the Wharton School of Business Nursing Leaders of the Future program at the University of Pennsylvania. In 1994, she achieved her Certification in Nursing Administration from the American Nurses Credentialing Center and has kept this certification active since. She is a member of the American Nurses Association, American Organization of Nurse Executives, Iowa Organization of Nurse Leaders (serving in various leadership capacities), Sigma Theta Tau (Nursing Honor Society) and the Iowa Hospital Association. Pranger and her husband have a son who is a physician, a daughter who's a physical therapist, and 11 grandchildren.
