MIMICS-2 Study

MIMICS-2: The Evaluation of Safety and Efficacy of the BioMimics 3D Nitinol Stent System in the Femoropopliteal Arteries of Patients with Symptomatic Peripheral Artery Disease (“MIMICS-2 Study”)

The purpose of this study is to evaluate a new stent which may be used in patients that have a blockage in one or more blood vessels (arteries) in the leg.  The BioMimics 3D stent has been made to treat narrowed or blocked blood vessels in the leg. What makes this stent different from other stents that are used in the leg is the design of the metal structure creates more flexibility. Up to 40 sites in the United States and Europe will enroll 280 patients with narrowing of the blood vessels in the leg who are able to take part in this study.
