Mercer County Hospital Offers Community Health Screenings
Call to sign up for the popular and economical community health screenings scheduled in October at Mercer County Hospital. Participants may select from a variety of tests offered at the health screening: Complete Health Profile which includes Comprehensive Metabolic Panel, Lipid Panel, and (CBC) Complete Automated Blood Count for $45; a Prostate Cancer Screen (PSA) test for $30; and ColoCare kits (in-home test) are available for $5.
Due to the high volume of participants, appointments are necessary, but the process is simple and convenient. Contact the Laboratory at 582-3727 to register for an appointment and lab technicians will take your information over the phone. A reminder postcard will be sent to the registered individual prior to their appointment. At the health screening participants must sign a consent form, pay for the testing selected with cash, check or credit card and have their blood drawn. Participants are asked to check with their insurance company if they can participate in a cash only service. A copy of the results will be sent to the participant and a physician of their choice.
“We care about our patients and the well-being of the community. We are all cutting back financially in this tough economy. The community health screenings are a way for us to offer laboratory tests at a reduced price which is a great benefit to our patients,” said Ruth Dulaney, Laboratory Manager.
