Nurse of the Month Program

The Genesis Nurse of the month program allows staff and leaders to nominate a nurse they feel is deserving of special recognition for excellence in professional practice. Criteria for nomination include a demonstrated concern for humanity, significant contributions to the nursing profession, and exemplary leadership. Those submitting nominations are encouraged to describe any specific actions or events that prompted the nomination. Other areas taken into consideration are committee involvement, education level, certification, professional organization membership and community involvement.

Recipients are presented with flowers from the Genesis Auxiliary, a Nursing Excellence Pin, and a $100 certificate to be used towards further education.
