Pulmonary Nursing

The Pulmonary Patient Care Area is located on the west end of 3rd floor of the West Central Park Campus

  • Number of beds: 19 beds, all private rooms
  • Type of patients: patients with: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, simple pneumonia & pleurisy, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, pulmonary edema & respiratory failure, respiratory infections & inflammations, simple pneumonia & pleurisy, bronchitis & asthma, pulmonary embolism, simple pneumonia & pleurisy
  • Clinical make-up: manager, charge nurses, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, unit assistants and certified nursing assistants
  • The care delivery model is Primary Nursing Care. All patients are assigned a primary nurse within eight hours of admission. Because of the chronic nature of our patient population, the same primary nurse is assigned to patients with multiple admissions, whenever possible. Nurses working the night shift (2300-0700) are not assigned as primary nurses.
