What Does It Look Like?

Clear Liquid; Tablet

How Is It Given?

Intravenous (vein); Oral (mouth)

Why Am I Taking It?

To prevent nausea and vomiting associated with chemotherapy

What Side Effects May Occur?

You may experience some, all or none of those listed. Most side effects do not last long. Tell the doctor or nurse about any that you notice. The information here does not include all possible side effects; others may occur. Please report any problems to your doctor.

Side Effects

• The drug may cause headache, diarrhea, constipation.
• The headache can usually be controlled by a mild pain reliever suggested by your doctor.
• The drug may make you feel temporarily weak.

How Do I Take This Medication?

It is usually given by vein but pills are available. Use oral tablets exactly as prescribed.

What If I Miss A Dose?

If you miss a dose, take as soon as remembered. Then take the next dose at the scheduled interval. Do not take the pill if it is almost time (less than one hour) for the next dose. Do not double up the doses.
