Renovation Project Updates

An $12 million dollar renovation of Genesis Medical Center, Aledo is underway. Elements of the renovation include upgrading the infrastructure, enhancing medical technology and expanding outpatient services to meet required safety standards and patient expectations. Most importantly, these improvements will ensure the hospital will continue to serve the long-term health and wellness needs of our community.

Phase One

The first phase will include establishing a new entrance and centralized patient registration area, located at the front of the hospital. All patient rooms will be updated during this phase, which is expected to be completed in seven months.

All services will continue operations during renovation. A significant component of the renovation is to replace the HVAC throughout the entire building.

Phase Two

In the second phase, Radiology and Surgery will be renovated and expanded to accommodate growth and advancement in medical technology. The existing operating room will be remodeled including a new surgical suite, recovery room, sterile storage area, and scrub room. This phase is expected to be completed in five months.

Phase Three

The last phase will be completed in six months and includes the renovation and expansion of the Emergency Room, Laboratory and Physical Therapy Departments.
