Edema - An abnormal amount of fluid in the body tissue that results in swelling or puffiness, especially in the hands, feet, and around the eyes.

Electrocardiogram - A recording of the electrical activity of the heart on a moving strip of paper. The electrocardiogram detects and records the electrical potential of the heart during contraction.
Electronic Pacer - An implant that reestablishes a normal heart beat (rhythm of the heart muscle).
Embolism - The sudden blocking of an artery by a clot or foreign material, which has been brought to its site of lodgment by the blood current.
Epicardiac - Of or relating to the epicardium.
Epicardium - The inner lining of the pericardium lying directly on the heart. It is the outermost layer of the heart wall.
