George J. Kontos Jr., MD
Dr. Kontos was born in Chicago Illinois. He received his B.A. at Northwestern University, Illinois and graduated from the Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine, Maywood, Illinois in 1982. Dr. Kontos completed residency at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and his second residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and his fellowship at the John Hopkins Hospital.
Dr. Kontos joined the Genesis Illini Campus - GHG Surgical Associates in 2007 and is Board certified with the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic surgery. He is a member of the Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians.
Dr. Kontos is married and has two children.
