Genesis Heart Surgery Ranks Among Nation's Top 15% 

The heart surgery program at Genesis has received the highest composite rating available – three stars – from The Society of Thoracic Surgeons. The three-star rating was earned by approximately 15 percent of the 756 hospitals supplying data for calendar year 2007 to The Society of Thoracic Surgeons. Genesis is the region's only heart surgery program to have earned the highest honor for quality from the world's premier organization of cardio-thoracic surgeons and researchers.

Open-heart surgery patients at Genesis, receive top clinical performance in 17 quality measures from surgeons who live and practice in the Quad Cities. Data shows our patients spend less time on a ventilator; less time in the Intensive Care Unit; and go home one day sooner and experience fewer complications than the national average.
