Volunteer

There are plenty of ways that community members can donate their time and care close to home. Hospitals in DeWitt, Davenport and Silvis; Genesis Hospice and the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House can use the talents and assistance of those willing to give. Volunteer coordinators will work around your schedule and find an area of service that best suits your interests.

At Genesis Medical Center, DeWitt and Westwing Place, volunteers may take part in resident outings, activities or greet those who visit the facilities.

Genesis Medical Center, Davenport has two campuses and a wide variety of programs that need volunteer support including responsibilities such as greeting and directing patients and families who visit our Cancer Center, Emergency and Waiting Rooms and various other departments within our Medical Center. Volunteers may choose to assist with clerical work, direct patient care, creative floral design or sewing for our gift shops. Some of our volunteers provide information about our facilities to those who are lost or need direction.

Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus also offers many areas of volunteer services including ambassador services to direct all those who come to the hospital for care or visitation.

Genesis Hospice and the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House have volunteers who "specialize" in any number of services: clerical, reception, "Hearts and Hands", knitting or crocheting prayer shawls, sewing KeepSake Bears, baking cookies as a "Taste of Treats" volunteer, bird feeding and so on.
