Volunteer Opportunities at Genesis
Volunteers are an integral and valuable component of Genesis Medical Center. A number of opportunities for volunteering exist by using your job-related skills, acquiring new skills or simply doing something you enjoy. Based on your interest, time availability, and personal concerns, there are opportunities to volunteer on both the Genesis East and West Campuses in the following areas:

Cancer Center
|
Assist with greeting patients and family members in the reception area, escorting patients to treatment areas, helping to take care of patients needs while in the center, and assisting with clerical duties at the reception desk

Clerical
|
Assist with typing, filing, answering phones, assembling mailings or packets, and computer data entry in departments such as Quality, Education and Marketing & Corporate Communications, Patient Financial Services
|
|
Gift Shop
|
Serve as a cashier, create window displays, assist with buying and/or inventory.
|
|
Coffee Shop
|
Assist with food orders.
|
|
Information Desk
|
Greet visitors, assist with directions, answer patient information telephone calls
|
|
ER Greeter
|
Greet patients as they come in to the Emergency Department, assist them with registration, help people in the waiting area, escort patients to treatment areas.
|
|
Creative Floral or Sewing
|
Design and create items for sale in the gift shop and for the annual bazaar
|
|
Patient Escorts
|
Accompany patients, in wheelchairs or walking, to various areas of the medical center
|
|
Senior Dinners
|
Assist with registration and hosting at the HealthQuest Sunday senior dinners
|
|
Waiting Room Assistants
|
Act as a liaison between staff and patients' families in the surgery or intensive care unit waiting rooms
|
|
Patient Care Host/Hostess
|
Deliver water and/or snacks to patients, visit with patients, assist with clerical duties in the patient care areas
|
|
Befriender
|
Work in conjunction with the Spiritual Care Department to work one on one with patients and family members
|
|
Auxiliary Leadership
|
Serve as an officer, committee chairman or on a committee for the Genesis Auxiliary
|
