Healing and Creative Arts

Genesis Cancer Center and the Outpatient Rehabilitation Program are holding creative art therapy workshops for patients, their families and those diagnosed with a chronic illness. Healing and Creative Arts is a 90-minute session designed to enhance creativity, health and connection to the spirit.
Workshops topics include mandala/medicine wheel, collage, totem animals/spirit guides and dreamscapes/landscapes. No knowledge of art or artistic ability is required, just bring your imagination and sense of discovery. As a therapy, the work is designed to enhance creativity, health and connection to Soul and/or Spirit.
The series will be lead by art therapist Karen Lobovits. Ms. Lobovits has facilitated art therapy workshops for more than 12 years and uses art as a therapeutic tool with cancer survivors and those affected by other chronic illnesses.
The Healing and Creative Arts classes will be held on Wednesdays, January 9, 16, 23 and 30, from 9:30 - 11:00 a.m., in the Conference Center at Genesis Medical Center's West campus, Pavilion 2, 1401 West Central Park, Davenport. Class size is limited and there is a $10 supply fee. Attending all four classes provides participants with the best experience, however it is not necessary.
