Lee National Denim Day® October 4, 2002
On behalf of the Quad Cities Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, we would like to invite you and your organization to take part in the sixth annual Lee National Denim Day®. On Friday, October 4, 2002, organizations across the country will be helping us fight breast cancer simply by slipping into their favorite pair of jeans, and we would love to have your company included in that list of participating companies!
The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation receives 100% of the funds raised from Lee National Denim Day®, a day hosted by the Lee Jeans, with a single purpose in mind - to raise breast health awareness and money for the fight against breast cancer. Last year, 1.5 million people across the country helped raise more than $6.3 million, bringing the six-year total to more than $30 million raised on Lee National Denim Day for breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment programs. Our goal is to raise at least $7.5 million in 2002. The best part about it is - there is no cost to your organization! The program is set up as a fun way for your employees to all join together, each offering a suggested $5 donation.
Here's how it works - Organizations simply invite their employees to donate $5 to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in exchange for wearing denim to work on Friday, October 4, 2002. Companies wishing to hold this fundraiser at their office just need to register for Lee National Denim Day® by calling 1-800-521-5533. Your organization will then be sent a free Company Participation Kit containing all the tools you need to make this day special in your office, including; breast cancer awareness pins for your employees, breast health educational brochures, suggestions on how to promote the day among your employees, and much more! This kit also contains a contribution slip, unique to your organization, and postage paid envelope to remit your collected donations directly to the Komen Foundation.
Credited as a leading catalyst in the fight against breast cancer, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and its Affiliates continue to lead the fight against the disease. Your organization's participation in Lee National Denim Day® will bring us one step closer to fulfilling our mission of eradicating breast cancer through research, education, screening and treatment!
