Inner Journey - Art Therapy Workshops

Genesis Cancer Program Offers Eight Week Art Therapy Series

Genesis Cancer Center is holding creative art therapy workshops for patients, their families and those diagnosed with a chronic illness. Inner Journey is designed to enhance creativity, health, and connection to the spirit.

Workshop topics include clay, collage, dream painting, Japanese Sumi Brush, masks, and mandala/medicine wheels. No knowledge of art or artistic ability is required, just bring your imagination and sense of discovery. All materials will be furnished in class.

The series will be lead by art therapist Karen Heysinger-Lobovits. Ms. Heysinger-Lobovits has facilitated art therapy shops for mare that 12 years and uses art as a therapeutic tool with cancer survivors and those affected by other chronic illnesses.

The Inner Journey classes will be held on eight consecutive Wednesdays, September 18 through November 6, from 9:30-11:15 a.m. Classes will take place in the Genesis West Conference Center, Pavilion 1, 1401 West Central Park, Davenport. Class size is limited so please register early. The eight-week series costs $80 or $10 per class.
