Genesis Offers Arthritis Self-Help Course

Davenport, IA - Genesis Medical Center and the Arthritis Foundation are co-sponsoring an arthritis self-help course designed to help patients take a more active role in the treatment of their arthritis.

The course will be held every Friday starting July 18 through August 8, from 9-11:30 a.m., in Suite 8 in the lower level of the Genesis Plaza, 2535 Maplecrest Road, Bettendorf.

This self-help program is designed to give persons with arthritis, and those who care about them the knowledge and skills needed to take a more active part in their care. During this class participants will learn how to take responsibility for the daily care of their arthritis, including decision-making skills that help keep arthritis pain under control while living an independent lifestyle. Instructors for this course have undergone extensive training by the Arthritis Foundation.

The cost is $48 and included a copy of the Arthritis Foundation Arthritis Self-Help Book. Participants are invited to bring a family member or friend at no extra cost. To register or for more information, call Genesis On Call at 421-2000 or 1-800-383-2575.
