DeWitt Community Hospital Installs New CT Scanner
DeWitt, IA - In order to provide patients with optimal imaging and comfort with lower doses of x-rays, DeWitt Community Hospital (DCH) has installed a new CT scanner manufactured by Somatom Emotion System from Siemens Inc.
"These new systems a offer huge advance in patient comfort while also increasing ease of patient handling." says Ellen Zaruba, Manager of Radiology Services at DeWitt's hospital. The new scanner increases patient accessibility, especially for interventional procedures requiring operators to interact closely with patients, repositioning them or setting IV lines.
According to Jeff Cooper, CEO of DeWitt Community Hospital, "Area physicians will be pleased with the improved images over our previous system. Having this level of equipment in DeWitt provides faster access to quality images and strongly enhances the role CT can play in diagnoses."
Additional improvements to radiology services at DCH over the last year have included updated mammography equipment and a Mobile MRI, which visits the hospital each Monday.
A physician referral is needed to schedule radiology exams at DeWitt Community Hospital.
The DCH CT Scanner is one of three purchased by Genesis Health System. The additional CT Scanners are located at Genesis Medical Center in Davenport and Illini Hospital in Silvis, Illinois.
