Genesis Offers Class About The Benefits Of Reflexology
Treating The Whole Person - Not The Symptoms Of Disease
Davenport, IA - Genesis Cancer Center is offering a series of holistic health and support classes to help cancer survivors and their loved ones who are looking to live full and meaningful lives with cancer. The ongoing series called, "Feeding Your Soul - Footprints to Survival," runs through December and focuses on a different topic each month.
The class offered in July is about reflexology and its benefits as a complementary therapy. Reflexology is an ancient healing art first practiced by the Egyptians. It's a technique that stimulates reflex points on the feet or hands, which correspond, to specific parts of the body, including glands and organs. Stimulating these points helps to relieve stress, increase circulation and detoxify tissues. Treating the whole person, not just the symptoms of disease, helps restore and maintain the body's own natural equilibrium and encourages healing.
Dawn DeGaris, a certified Reflexologist at MorningStarr Message is the instructor for this session which will be held Tuesday, July 15, from 9:30-11 a.m., at the Genesis Medical Center's West campus conference center, 1401 West Central Park, Davenport.
