America At War: What The Quad Cities Can Do To Help
Davenport, IA - As days of Operation Iraqi Freedom grow into weeks and Allied Forces move further into Baghdad, many Quad City residents find themselves and their loved ones experiencing powerful emotions associated with the war and the continuing threat of terrorism. For most people, the intense feelings of anxiety, sadness, grief and anger are healthy and appropriate. But some people may have a more profound and debilitating reaction to the war.
How do you recognize the difference between healthy and debilitating emotions? How do we turn those emotions into positive actions that will help our military, community and nation stay strong? Genesis Health System, Rock Island Arsenal, Quad Cities Chapter of the American Red Cross and the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center will come together on Thursday, April 10, from 6-8 p.m., at the Adler Health Education Center, Lower Level of the Genesis Heart Institute, 1236 E. Rusholme Street, Davenport, to provide ideas on how to make a difference at a time when our nation is in turmoil.
"America At War: What The Quad Cities Can Do To Help" is a free community presentation that will not only take a look at the emotional state of our community but also give an inside view of the war through the eyes of the Rock Island Arsenal and address concerns and fears about the impact Operation Iraqi Freedom is having on our soldiers, their families, veterans, the Quad City workforce and our children.
