Genesis Offers Arthritis Self-Help Course
Davenport, IA - Genesis Medical Center and the Arthritis Foundation are co-sponsoring an arthritis self-help course designed to help patients take a more active role in the treatment of their arthritis.
The six-week course will be held every Tuesday, starting March 2 through April 6, from 9:30 a.m.- noon, in Suite 6 in the lower level of the Genesis Plaza, 2535 Maplecrest Road, Bettendorf.
This self-help program is designed to give persons with arthritis, and those who care about them the knowledge and skills needed to take a more active part in their care. During this class participants will learn how to take responsibility for the daily care of their arthritis, including decision-making skills that help keep arthritis pain under control while living an independent lifestyle. Instructors for this course have undergone extensive training by the Arthritis Foundation.
The cost is $35 and includes a copy of the Arthritis Foundation Arthritis Self-Help Book. Participants are invited to bring a family member or friend at no extra cost. To register or for more information, call Genesis On Call at 421-2000 or 1-800-383-2575. Registration deadline is Monday, March 1.
