Genesis Hosts Free Breast Cancer Community Symposium
In Conjunction with 15th Annual Komen Quad Cities Race for the Cure®
Davenport, IA - The Genesis Cancer Center is proud to present an evening of insight into cancer survivorship, which will be held in conjunction with the 2004 Komen Quad Cities Race for the Cure®.
Breast cancer survivor Bobbi de Córdova-Hanks and her husband, Jerry, her caregiver, will present: "In Sickness and In Health: A Survivor and Caregiver Tell Their Story of Tears and Hope." Their presentation delivers a powerful message of practical guidelines and inspiration that should be heard by all cancer survivors, caregivers, and supporters of cancer patients.
The event is at 5:30 p.m., on Friday, June 11, at The MARK of the Quad Cities in rooms A, B, and C, 1201 River Drive, Moline. Dinner will be provided to attendees at no cost.
In addition to the presentation, Kitty Yoerger, Instructor at Capri College of Cosmetology, will share details about the Komen Quad Cities Affiliate Wig Program that provides wig gift certificates for Quad-City breast cancer survivors.
The free symposium is limited to 200 people. Advance registrations are required by Monday, June 7th. To make a reservation, call the Race Hotline at 421-CURE (2873) or 1-877-921-CURE (2873). Due to the sensitive nature of the presentation, it is asked that children be left at home.
This event is sponsored by Genesis Medical Center and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation Quad Cities Affiliate. For information about the Komen Quad Cities Race for the Cure or about the breast cancer services offered at the Genesis Cancer Center, visit www.genesishealth.com.
