The Genesis Foundation 15th Anniversary Crystal Gala

Saturday, March 13
The Outing Club, Davenport

This year, a portion of the net Gala proceeds will be used to purchase equipment to treat cancer patients. This year's project, PortalVision, is an imaging system used in radiation therapy. It allows the clinician to identify with a high degree of precision the location of the site to be irradiated. This ensures that the radiation is concentrated on the actual site and that adjacent healthy tissue is much less likely to be damaged. Since the imaging is "real-time," PortalVision replaces the time-consuming and anxiety-producing process of having to take one or more x-rays of the tumor in order to position the patient properly for radiation therapy.

The remaining funds will be used to support student nurses through the Gala Nursing Scholarship and Loan Program. This program has been in existence for three years. Twenty $5,000 scholarships have been granted to students who are pursuing their baccalaureate degree in nursing, and due to your continued support of the Gala, these students will soon realize their dreams of becoming Genesis health care professionals.

The Genesis Health Services Foundation Gala Committee offers the following items for bidding. We gratefully acknowledge the generosity and support of our donors.
