20 Foot Banana Split Featured At Rick's House Of Hope Fall Kick Off Event
Davenport, IA - Ice cream, bananas, strawberries and chocolate…they are just some of the end of summer favorites Rick's House of Hope will be serving on a 20-foot banana split at its fall kick off event on Thursday, September 9.
Rick's House of Hope, a grief and trauma recovery center for children is a safe haven that provides guidance and support for young people and their families during painful and confusing times of grief. It is that support, understanding and compassion that have helped area children and adolescents learn how to restore a healthy sense of identity and wholeness.
Rainbow Club, a grief support children ages 5-17 who've had a loved one die, I Feel Better Now, a trauma recovery group for children ages 6-12 and Healing Hearts, a support group for children ages 5-12 whose parents are going through or are already divorced are just some of the programs offered.
Rick's House of Hope --- named in memory of the Reverend Rick Johnson, Founder of The Prairie and River Spiritual Resources --- is a division of the Genesis Medical Center Spiritual Care Department.
The 4th Annual Giant Banana Split and Fall Kick-Off Party is at 6 p.m., Thursday, September 9, at 4867 Forest Grove Drive, Bettendorf. The night will include information and registration for fall support groups, a tour of the facility and a volunteer meet-and-greet.
