Keeping Your Family Safe

Genesis Participates in Red Cross Safety Day

Davenport, IA - Genesis Health System is a proud sponsor of this year's American Red Cross Safety Day, from 10 a.m.–4 p.m., Saturday March 6, at NorthPark Mall, 320 W. Kimberly Road.

The event, targeted at improving the safety, health and well-being for all Quad City area families will feature health experts from the Genesis Cancer Center, Sleep Disorders Center, Centers for Bariatric Surgery, Breast Health and Digestive Health in addition to Children's Therapy and Wellness Center and the Quad Cities' SAFE KIDS Campaign. Many of the Genesis booths will provide interactive exhibits for the entire family.

"Providing the Quad Cities with information and ideas on how to improve their health and well-being while teaching them pro-active ways to stay safe is a priority for Genesis Health System," says Amy Miller, Community Relations Coordinator. "Our commitment begins long before you walk into the hospital. Events like the American Red Cross Safety Day give our health care providers an opportunity to talk with people about health and safety concerns they may have in a more relaxed and open venue."

The 7th Annual American Red Cross Safety Day also features kid's photo ID cards, DNA identification kits for kids, guns safety and stranger danger, and disaster safety stations. Children will also have an opportunity to meet The Cat In the Hat, Strawberry Shortcake, Wild Thing, Mo Mallard and Steamwheeler Willie.

The Family Safety Day is a fun free event for people of all ages. Genesis is among 30 Quad City area agencies and businesses participating.
