Genesis Offers Diabetes Screenings In Iowa And Illinois

Davenport, IA – Do you have diabetes? Many people have diabetes for five to seven years before a diagnosis. During those years, diabetes can damage their eyes, kidneys, heart and nerves.

As part of Genesis Diabetes Awareness Week, a week-long effort that will educate Quad Citians about the growing incidence of diabetes, the Genesis Diabetes Care Centers will hold diabetes screenings in Iowa and Illinois.

The screening dates are:

Dec. 14, 7-10 a.m.
Larson Center at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, 855 Illini Drive, Silvis.
NOTE: For best results, do not eat or drink after midnight, otherwise a two-hour fast will suffice.

Dec. 15, 3-6 p.m.

NOTE: For best results, a two-hour fast is requested.

Blood glucose monitoring supplies are courtesy of LifeScan, a Johnson and Johnson company, the makers of "One Touch Ultra" blood glucose monitoring systems.
