Genesis Footprints Series Offers Path To Stress, Anxiety Management

Davenport, IA – The Genesis Cancer Program will offer the class Meditation for Stress Management as part of its annual Feeding Your Soul-Footprints to Survival holistic health series.

The Meditation for Stress Managment will begin with an introductory session on Jan. 31 from 6-8 p.m. The practice sessions for the class will be held from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on Feb. 7, Feb. 14 and Feb. 21.

All of the sessions will be held at the Genesis Conference Center, Pavillion 2, 1351 West Central Park.

The facilitator will be A. Shirley Cook, R.N., a nurse, chiropractor and Reiki Master who is also certified in Primordial Sound Meditation.  Ms. Cook will offer an introductory lecture about meditation and its many benefits.  The introductory lesson will be followed by practice sessions over the next three weekly sessions.

“The ultimate goal is for attendees to be able to comfortably incorporate meditation as a daily practice,’’ said Pat Christy, Manager, Genesis Cancer Center. “The focus of our classes in 2006 will be the management of stress and anxiety.

“We will offer a variety of techniques to learn and incorporate into daily life.

The cost for the series of four sessions will be $35.  Registration is available by calling Genesis On Call at 563-421-2000.
