Genesis Cardiac Care Receives National Recognition

Davenport, IA - Genesis Medical Center, Davenport, has been designated as a UnitedHealth Premium cardiac specialty center.

The designation recognizes cardiovascular programs providing quality and efficiency. Genesis was one of six Iowa hospitals receving the designation.

Criteria for selecting UnitedHealth Premium cardiac specialty centers include staff experience, breadth of care, depth of care and emergency care.

Genesis Heart Institute is a regional network of heart specialists treating patients from more than 12 counties. The Institute serves as a link between heart specialists and other physicians throughout the region, providing patients with new advances in detection, treatment and management of heart disease.

The team of accomplished surgeons at Genesis Heart Institute practice and live in the Quad Cities and perform the highest number of open heart procedures in the Quad Cities. The surgeons at the Genesis Heart Institute have performed 2,076 open heart surgeries in the past five years.

Genesis performs nearly 10,000 catheterization procedures each year, making the cath program has one of the busiest in the country.
