Genesis Employees Raise $5,000 For Tsunami Relief

Davenport, IA – Genesis Health System employees and their families have demonstrated their compassion and concern for those impacted by the recent tsunami in the Indian Ocean by raising $5,000 to support relief efforts.

The funds raised by Genesis employees will be donated to the American Red Cross of the Quad Cities Area for the national organization’s relief efforts.

Dr. Robert Pimentel, M.D., Genesis Health Group, Silvis, Ill., said Genesis Health System and the affiliation with the American Red Cross provided the outlet his family was looking for to help.

“My family was planning to do something. This effort through Genesis and the American Red Cross gave us the opportunity to contribute to a just cause through an organization, the American Red Cross, that we trust.’’

Genesis Health System employees who made a donation of $5 or more were entered into a drawing for the use of a suite at John O’Donnell Stadium during the 2005 Swing of the Quad Cities baseball season.

Ken Croken, Vice President of Corporate Communications and Marketing, Genesis Health System, said, “This fundraising effort has been an outlet for everyone throughout the Genesis system who was looking for some way to help.’’
