Genesis Publication Recognized With Aster Gold Award

DAVENPORT, Iowa – July 12, 2006 Genesis Health System is a Gold Award winner in the annual Aster Awards for excellence in health care marketing.

The Genesis direct mail piece, A Home At Journey’s End, won the direct mail category in the health care system group. A Home At Journey’s End was an informational mailing about the new Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House under construction in Bettendorf.

Hanson Watson Associates of Moline designed the publication.

The Gold Winner designation means that A Home At Journey’s End scored in the top five percent of entries submitted. Nearly 2,500 entries were submitted for consideration. Judging criteria includes creativity, layout and design, typography, production quality, knowledge transfer and overall excellence.

"We’re pleased that Genesis has again been recognized as a Gold Award winner. A Home At Journey’s End was an important element of an highly effective campaign to inform the public about hospice and a need for the region’s first freestanding hospice house,’’ said Ken Croken, Vice President of Corporate Communications and Marketing, Genesis Health System. "The public has warmly embraced the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, as evidenced by the raising of more than $7.4 million in only 13 months.’’

The Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, operated by Genesis VNA & Hospice, is being built on Tech Drive in Bettendorf. The 16-bed facility is designed specifically to provide quality, compassionate end-of-life care in a home-like setting. The house is scheduled to open this fall.
