Genesis Home Medical Equipment Expands To Illini Campus Location

DAVENPORT, Iowa – Genesis Home Medical Equipment will soon be offering a convenient location to serve the needs of patients at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus and residents of the Illinois Quad Cities.

The location will be opening Tuesday, Jan. 2.  The store will be located in the lower level of the Larson Center, Suite 106, which is on the Illini Campus.

“The office will be staffed with a licensed clinician who will be available to answer questions, dispense equipment and take orders for delivery of equipment to a patient’s home, or to the patient’s room, at time of  discharge,’’ said Linda Pedersen, manager of office operations for Genesis Home Health Services. “The office will offer access to a full-line of equipment at a location that is convenient for Illinois patients.’’

Products available will include respiratory equipment (CPAP, BiPAP, nebulizers and oxygen); ambulatory (canes, walkers, crutches, wheelchairs); bathroom aids (shower chairs, toilet risers, grab bars); daily living aids (reachers, dressing sticks, sock aids) and maternal health products (breast pumps and supplies).

Hours of operation will be 8 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.

Appointments for respiratory products are recommended to allow adequate time for fitting.

Billing will be available for items covered by insurance. Patient payments may be made with cash, check or credit cards.  Mastercard and Visa are accepted.

It offers a cost-effective alternative to hospitalization or long-term care.  The at-home services of Genesis allow patients to leave the hospital earlier, remain in their homes longer and maintain independence while receiving quality care.  Home care services are available from Genesis Visiting Nurse Association & Genesis Hospice, but are not required to benefit from the equipment and supplies available from Genesis Home Medical Equipment.

Genesis Home Medical Equipment at Illini is modeled on the successful store located at Genesis Medical Center, West Central Park.  Both are intended to extend the services available at the main store at 1803 East Kimberly, Davenport for patients and families as they go home from the hospital.
