Bressanelli Chairs Iowa Hospital Association BoardGenesis Health System President and CEO Leo Bressanelli

DES MOINES, Iowa – Genesis Health System President and CEO Leo Bressanelli has been elected chairman of the Iowa Hospital Association Board (IHA).

Delegates elected Bressanelli unanimously. He began serving as chairman last week at the Iowa Hospital Association (IHA) annual meeting.  The board provides general direction to IHA and ensures its financial viability.  IHA is a voluntary membership organization that represents all 118 Iowa hospitals and their interests to business, government, and consumer audiences.

As president and CEO of Genesis Health System, Bressanelli oversees Genesis Medical Center, Davenport; Genesis Medical Center, DeWitt; and, Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus.  Genesis Health System also includes Genesis Health Group, the area’s largest primary care practice with more than 100 practitioners.

Genesis is also the region’s leading provider of occupational health services and operates Genesis VNA and Hospice, which is Iowa’s largest home health organization.

Bressanelli received his Bachelor of Science degree from St. Joseph’s College in Rensselaer, Ind., and his Master in Business Administration degree from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Bressanelli serves as a board member of Wellmark Health Plan of Iowa, Inc.; Wells Fargo Bank Iowa, N.A.; DavenportOne; Kahl Home for the Aged; Scott County Family YMCA; United Way of the Quad Cities Area; Quad City Development Group; Renew Moline and Health Enterprises of Iowa.
