GMC, Illini Ambulance Service To “Fill The Rig’’ For Shelter
SILVIS, Ill. – The ambulance service at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus will be making a special pickup on Dec. 16.
The ambulance staff will team up with the Illini emergency department staff for a “Fill The Rig’’ day to collect non-perishable food items for Winnie’s Place, a women and children’s shelter in Moline.
Illini ambulances will be parked from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Silvis Hy-Vee store and at the East Moline Jewell store. The crews will be collecting non-perishable food items, paper products and cash donations to benefit the shelter.
“Events like this have been very successful in other places and we’re hoping a lot of people will stop by and drop off items,’’ said Mark Guthrie, Illini Ambulance coordinator.
