Genesis VNA & Hospice Receives National Recognition
BETTENDORF, Iowa – HomeCare Elite has recognized Genesis VNA and Hospice as one of the top home health care agencies in the United States.
HomeCare Elite recognized Genesis VNA and Hospice in the top tier of agencies on measures of quality, improvement and financial performance. Genesis VNA and Hospice was the only home health agency in the region to be selected.
HomeCare Elite measured the performance of agencies using three indexes.
The Quality of Care Index measured the performance of agencies in each of 10 Home Health Compare measures, representative of care provided in the last half of 2005 and the first half of 2006.
The Quality Improvement Index was based on changes in the 10 outcomes of data released in September 2005 and in September 2006.
The Financial Performance Index represented the agencies’ indexed profit margin. Genesis VNA and Hospice is a not-for-profit agency that uses its resources to provide care and education for all, regardless of ability to pay.
Each agency’s performance in each of the three indexes was compared against the performance of other organizations in their state and in the country. The top 25 percent of agencies in each region, both hospital-based and freestanding, were identified and recognized on the national quality list.

The at-home services of the Visiting Nurse Association allow patients to leave the hospital earlier, remain in their homes longer and maintain independence while receiving quality care.
