Genesis Chosen For Governor’s Volunteer Award
DAVENPORT, IA. – Genesis Health System has been selected as a recipient of the Governor’s volunteer Award in Iowa.
The Governor’s Volunteer Award is presented each year to Iowans who have contributed countless hours of volunteer service to their schools, communities, or other community-based organizations.
Genesis was nominated by Roger Fuerstenberg of the Davenport Community School District for its coordination and participation in the district’s employee health fair. Genesis Occupational Health coordinated the event and Genesis Medical Center staff provided information and educational booths for the event.
The Governor’s Volunteer Award will be presented to Genesis on Wednesday, June 14 in Marion, Iowa. Amanda Hess and Melissa Wood of Genesis Occupational Health will accept the award.
The 5,000 Genesis clinical and non-clinical employees volunteer thousands of hours each year toward the success of various health care groups and organizations and participate in medical mission trips throughout the world.
