Genesis Offers Cholesterol And Diabetes Screenings

DAVENPORT, Iowa – The level of cholesterol in your blood can be a risk factor for heart disease. The higher your blood cholesterol level, the greater your risk for developing heart disease or having a heart attack.

The labs of Genesis Medical Center, DeWitt, Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, and Metropolitan Medical Laboratory are offering reduced-cost comprehensive blood panel tests for cholesterol and lipids, and 12 other chemical tests on May 15 at four locations.

The most accurate test to determine the cholesterol level is the "lipoprotein profile," which is done after fasting. Included in the 12 chemical tests is a blood sugar functions test for diabetes.

The screenings will be May 15 from 6-9 a.m. Cost is $20 (check or cash) at these locations:
