Physical Therapy Close to Home
Genesis opens clinic in Eldridge
ELDRIDGE, Iowa -- No one appreciates convenience more than someone who has been injured or has a physical limitation.
That’s why Genesis Outpatient Rehabilitation will open a clinic Monday in Eldridge, Iowa in the new Mid Town Plaza at 170 S. 4th Ave. The outpatient clinic, one of eight for Genesis, has more than 1,800 square feet of dedicated space featuring all new equipment to serve residents in the north Scott County area.
In Eldridge, a multidisciplinary staff of Genesis physical, occupational and speech therapists welcomes patients of all ages who have orthopaedic and sports injuries, neurologic conditions and movement dysfunction. The clinic also offers therapy to people who have been injured on the job and the services of an outpatient rehabilitation social worker.
The clinic site supervisor is physical therapist Kirsten Treiber, who lives in Eldridge with her husband Karl Treiber, D.O., MHA, of Genesis Health Group, Bettendorf, and their two young children.
“In this day and age, everyone is pressed for time,” says Kirsten Treiber, who has been a physical therapist for 10 years and is a certified brain injury specialist. “They want their physical therapy close to home out of convenience, so they can easily stop in before or after work or during their lunch hour. If they’re older and transportation is an issue, it’s much easier when it’s closer to home.”
She added, “Genesis is always looking for new ways to serve the needs of the community and to bring a neighborhood feel to each of its clinics. Until now, the town’s closest Genesis outpatient therapy clinic had been in Bettendorf, DeWitt or west Davenport. The physicians of Genesis Health Group in Eldridge indicated they would like a Genesis outpatient clinic in town, as well. They know the quality of care Genesis Outpatient Rehabilitation provides and wanted to have that locally for their patients.”
The clinic will offer one-on-one patient care, individualized treatment plans and hour-long initial evaluations. Patients can recover mobility and strength with post-operative and joint rehabilitation, balance training and fall prevention.
“Our therapists plan to have an excellent working relationship with all of our referring physicians to optimize patients’ treatment and ensure they get better as quickly as possible,” says Treiber, who most recently worked at the Genesis Valley Fair clinic in west Davenport.
“What really sets our outpatient clinics apart at Genesis is patient education. Our goal is always to educate patients about their condition, so they can leave empowered with the knowledge and techniques to avoid further injury.”
The Treibers built a house in Eldridge and have made the community their permanent home. The clinic staff also is working to be part of the community, participating in the recent Grand Haven Healthy Heart Expo; sponsoring a game and volunteering at the Edward White Elementary School carnival; and sponsoring a North Scott Little League team, she says. “Our staff is deeply committed to helping North Scott residents improve their health, as well as contributing to the community’s overall quality of life.”
The facility offers street-level entry and is handicap accessible, right down to the automatic entry door. To make an appointment, patients are asked to obtain a referral from their physician. Call (563) 285-9400.
