Genesis Fall Prevention Program Begins May 11
Need a great gift idea for Mother's Day or Father's Day for an older parent? The Genesis Fall Prevention Program helps older adults improve their level of strength so they can better perform daily tasks while limiting the risk of falling.
The next eight-week program will begin May 11. Register by calling Diane Dittmer Johnson or Jennifer Hovey at (563) 421-1440.
Functional fitness assessment tests given to participants before and after the 16 sessions have shown increases in agility, coordination, strength, and standing balance. Participants also will receive a free physical therapy screening. Cost of the eight-week program will be $100.
Classes will be at two different locations and times.
There will be a class from 11 a.m.-noon on Tuesdays and Fridays at the Genesis Medical Center, West Central Park campus on the second floor. Enter from the Lombard Street side.
The second option is 1-3 p.m. Tuesdays and Fridays at Genesis Medical Park, Maplecrest in Bettendorf.
