Genesis Opens 13th Outpatient Rehabilitation Clinic

Clinic located at Lombard Street in Davenport

Genesis Physical Rehabilitation’s newest outpatient clinic opened this week at 1414 W. Lombard St. in Davenport with a focus on orthopedic care and sports medicine.

The clinic is located in the lower level of the ORA Orthopedics building, on the southwest corner of the Genesis Medical Center, West Central Park campus. That makes it a logical fit for offering physical and occupational therapy to patients with orthopedic conditions ranging from sports- and work related injuries to pre-and post-operative care for bones and joints.

It’s the 13th outpatient therapy clinic offered by Genesis, the regional leader in physical medicine and rehabilitative care. Other outpatient rehabilitation clinics are offered in Moline, Silvis, LeClaire, Bettendorf, Eldridge and DeWitt.

“Our goal is always to provide easy access to all people who need therapy,” said Doug Boleyn, Manager of Outpatient Rehabilitation at Genesis. “Our Lombard Street clinic’s close proximity to orthopedic physicians will enhance communication and the continuum of care. Patients coming to the building to see their orthopedic surgeon will feel a sense of familiarity and comfort coming there for therapy as well.”

A similar setup has been successful at Genesis Medical Park, Crow Valley, where a physical therapy clinic is located in the lower level of the Crow Valley Surgery Center, a joint venture of Genesis Medical Center and ORA Orthopedics, P.C. at 2300 53rd Ave. in Bettendorf.

Musculoskeletal, sports medicine, and work related injuries will be the most frequent referrals to the Lombard clinic. Conditions commonly treated will include:

• Sprains and strains

• Fractures

• Post-operative cases

• Hand injuries, surgeries or splinting needs

• Joint replacement and revisions (Most common total hip or knee surgeries)

• Back pain

• Nerve injuries

• Soft tissue disorders

• Amputations

• Cumulative trauma disorders, such as carpal tunnel syndrome

• Chronic pain

• Pain from motor vehicle accidents or other trauma

• Vestibular disorders (dizziness)

“Our patients will have the most up-to-date therapeutic services provided by highly educated and experienced physical and occupational therapists who stay abreast of the latest techniques and evidence-based treatment in their fields,” said physical therapist Kathryn Ellsworth, Clinic Supervisor.
