"An Incredible Trip"

"It was an incredible trip. I have been involved with the John Deere Classic for years and have been to a number of golf events, but none of them were as nice as the Lexus trip. From the moment you check in the service and hospitality are second to none. The first night was a welcoming cocktail and food reception that had a very impressive food spread. We met many nice participants the first night, and we knew right then that we were going to have a great time. The golf experience was organized very well including the course location, starting time and even the caddies. One of the nights we were on our own as Lexus provided a credit for us to use at any of the fine restaurants at Pebble. After the last round there was a golf clinic with Johnny Miller and Peter Jacobson that was quite entertaining and informative. And of course, the ending event was the awards ceremony that featured 5 different countries' foods. It was fun tasting; for example, the foods of Spain along with Sangria, and the foods of Greece with lemon Ouzo were quite delicious and interesting. All in all the accommodations were first class, the service excellent and the golf courses were incredible. How can you have a bad time?! Thanks to Genesis for making this happen."
Dave Steil, winner of the 2010 Lexus Champions for Charity National Championship Raffle

The golfing success of Dave and Rick Steil at the 2010 Lexus Champions for Charity National Championship will help Genesis develop and retain highly trained nurses in the future.

The Steil brothers finished eighth overall in the Net Division of the tournament at Pebble Beach last December, winning $3,000 for the Genesis Foundations.  Dave also finished second overall in the Lexus ISF Racing Game results while on-site at the event, securing an additional $1,000 for the Genesis Foundations.

The Genesis Foundations will award $141,000 in nursing scholarships in 2011 for students studying nursing and for Genesis employed nurses who are advancing their educations.

The Steils won entry into the 2010 Lexus Champions for Charity National Championship at Pebble Beach by winning a raffle at the Genesis Pro-Am Challenge to benefit the Genesis Foundations. Lujack Lexus of the Quad Cities donated the raffle prize valued at $7,000 and has been the tournament sponsor of the Genesis Pro-Am Challenge for more than 14 years.

"This gift made possible by the fine representation of the Steil brothers will help support our nursing scholarship program and will help Genesis develop and retain nurses who will be caring for our patients for years to come,'' said Missy Gowey, executive director, Genesis Health Services Foundation.  "The real beneficiaries of these funds will be future Genesis patients who will be cared for by dedicated, highly trained nurses.''

"The event was an incredible experience.  Nobody was more surprised about our results than we were,'' said Dave Steil, who is employed by Fidlar Technologies in Davenport.  "We are excited to be able to make this kind of a gift to a program that touches everyone in the region at some point.''

The 2011 Genesis Pro-Am Challenge will be held on Monday, Aug. 22 at Short Hills Country Club, Crow Valley Golf Club and TPC Deere Run.  There will again be a raffle for two spots in the 2011 Lexus Champions for Charity National Championship at Pebble Beach. Please contact the Genesis Foundation at 563-421-6865 to sponsor or play in the tournament.
