Anhalt Named Genesis Chief Nurse Executive
Jackie Anhalt, RN, MS, MSN, CRRN, has been named Vice President of Patient Services, Genesis Medical Center, Davenport; and Chief Nurse Executive (CNE) for Genesis Health System.
The promotion was announced by Wayne Diewald, President of GMC Davenport and Senior Vice President, Genesis Health System. Anhalt has held the position in the interim since the June retirement of Judy Pranger.
In the position, Anhalt has responsibility for oversight and management of the Patient Services division, including Inpatient/Outpatient nursing departments and Continuum Services at GMC Davenport. As CNE, Anhalt also is responsible for the clinical practice of nursing throughout the health system.
"Jackie has proven leadership skills to motivate our nurses and guide them through today's rapidly changing health care environment," Diewald said. "She believes in high standards that promote quality, safe patient care, result in excellent outcomes and enhance the patient experience. Her enthusiasm and dedication to nursing will ensure continuing improvement to nursing professional practice at Genesis."
Anhalt has been an employee of Genesis for more than 20 years, beginning as a bedside nurse on the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Nursing Unit. Her experience also includes Care Coordinator for the Rehab Department, Nurse Manager of the Orthopaedic Unit and most recently, Director of Nursing Operations.
Anhalt was named one of the 100 Great Iowa Nurses in 2007.
Anhalt holds a bachelor’s degree in Health Science from the University of St. Francis, Joliet, Ill.; a master's in Health Education and Promotion from Western Illinois University, Macomb, Ill.; and a second master's in Nursing from St. Ambrose University, Davenport.
