Genesis Earns Summit Award Repeat
Genesis Cardiac Surgeons and the Emergency Department at Genesis Medical Center, DeWitt have repeated as Summit Awards winners for patient satisfaction in 2012.
Summit Awards are presented each year by Press Ganey to recognize hospitals and medical practices for clinical performance and patient satisfaction. More than 175 institutions received awards for their dedication to improvement across the continuum of care at the company's recent National Client Conference in Washington, D.C.
"Reaching a high level for patient satisfaction is only a first step. Maintaining a high level of patient satisfaction over a long period is our goal,'' explained Curt Coleman, interim administrator at Genesis Medical Center, DeWitt. "The Emergency Department at DeWitt has won Summit Awards four times, which is a reflection on the great team of nurses, doctors and every person at Genesis who comes in contact with emergency department patients.''
Patient satisfaction scores of the Emergency Department at GMC, DeWitt are usually in the 99th percentile. To win a Summit Award, patient satisfaction must rank in the 95th percentile or higher for a minimum of three consecutive years.
