Genesis Nursing Scholarships Available For Regional BSN Students
Genesis will again be offering $10,000
scholarships for college students who are
enrolled in four-year BSN programs.
Recruiting and retaining skilled,
compassionate nurses helps Genesis meet
the challenge of continually improving
nursing practice for the benefit of patients.
One way to continue the tradition of
nursing excellence at Genesis is to assist
nursing students with scholarships through
the Genesis Foundations.
“Through generous support of the Genesis
Foundations, people in the region have
demonstrated the importance they place
on nurse development and retention,’’ said
Judy Pranger, MSN, RN, NE-BC, Chief
Nurse Executive for Genesis Health System.
“Developing and retaining skilled nurses at
Genesis are factors that positively influence
patient outcomes.
“By advancing their nursing educations,
nursing students are able to change and
grow along with the rapidly changing
health care delivery system.”
To be eligible for a $10,000 scholarship, an
applicant must reside in the 10-county
Genesis Health System service area; be a
current college student in good academic
standing at an accredited Iowa or Illinois
college or university; have completed
freshman or sophomore year of college by
June 30, 2012; and be seeking admission
to, or have been accepted into, an
undergraduate baccalaureate program in
nursing. Recipients are required to
complete their first year of college by
June 30, 2012.
The scholarships are offered as forgivable
loans. Scholarship recipients must work two
years at Genesis, Davenport or Genesis,
Illini Campus in Silvis, following graduation
from a BSN program. All Genesis nursing
scholarship applications can be found at www.genesishealth.com/scholarships.
Deadline to apply is March 24.
