Becker's Hospital Review Recognizes Genesis For Integration of Care
Genesis Health System has been recognized by Becker's Hospital Review among "61 Integrated Health Systems to Know."
The recognition showcases top integrated health systems that have achieved a high level of integration as demonstrated through strong physician alignment. The recognized health systems also address the continuum of care through clinics, rehabilitation centers, psychiatric care facilities, medical groups, accountable care organizations and various other healthcare entities.
As the healthcare industry moves from a fee-for-service model to a pay-for-performance system that focuses on quality patient care, these organizations have been at the forefront in providing access to an array of health services beyond direct patient care, such as pharmacies, educational opportunities, management companies and health plans.
Genesis Health System was the only Iowa-based health system earning the recognition.
"Genesis Health System is much more than a hospital system. As the recognition suggests, Genesis is an integrated system of care offering the region comprehensive health services from a number of entry points" said Doug Cropper, President and CEO, Genesis Health System. "Because of our scope of services and our partnerships with physicians, Genesis is well positioned for the changes we will be seeing in how health care is delivered in the future."
Health systems were selected for inclusion on this list based on data from
healthcare analytics company SDI, nominations and careful research by the Becker's Hospital Review editorial team. Health systems do not pay and cannot pay to be included on this list.
Genesis was also recognized recently as one of the Top 100 Integrated Health Systems in the U.S.
