Davenport Emergency Services
The emergency departments at Genesis Medical Center Davenport provide a constant state of readiness for all types of illness and injury. The medical center provides comprehensive emergency services at both East and West campus locations. Over 65,000 patients visit the Genesis Medical Center Davenport emergency departments every year.
The East campus is verified as a Regional Level II Trauma Care Facility by the State of Iowa Trauma System. Trauma surgeons, emergency physicians, physician sub-specialists, and specially trained nurses are readily available to care for victims of trauma.
Teamwork is the approach for patients who are experiencing serious injury, heart attack or stoke. An "alert" system rapidly mobilizes teams of multidisciplinary caregivers to handle complex patient needs.
Both emergency departments provide Fast Track services to help facilitate care for less serious illness and injuries. Patients can be seen quicker in a designated area within or in close proximity to the emergency department. If a patient needs to be seen in the main emergency department, it is only steps away.
The west campus emergency department provides primary services for victims of sexual assault. Specially trained sexual assault nurse examiners (SANE) provide care for patients.
