Illini Emergency Services/Trauma CenterGMC Illini Campus

Disaster can happen in a heartbeat. As the seconds tick away and the call goes out for help, your goal is to bring every resource you have into play. Illini has a powerful weapon to add to the fight to save lives.

In keeping with a strong tradition of emergency medical services, Illini has been designated by the state of Illinois as a Level II Trauma Center.

It takes a team of trained health professionals to treat a trauma patient. Coordinated response in the field, in the Emergency Department and with other acute care services is crucial. Physicians representing 12 different medical specialties are on call to be on-site within 30 minutes at all times.

Illini is also a recognized Pediatric Emergency Center, prepared to provide specialized care to acutely ill or injured children.

When trauma occurs, every second counts. Quick access to advanced medical care can be the difference between improved quality of life or even life itself. Illini's Trauma Center is ready to make that difference.
