Stroke Education Program
Time Is Critical
Stroke, brain attack is a medical emergency, requiring the same attention as a heart attack. A stroke will kill brain cells controlling vital body functions. The longer you wait to seek medical treatment, the more brain cells die. The most common cause of stroke is a blood clot in an artery of the brain. A current treatment - the clot dissolving drug TPA - must be given within 4 1/2 hours of the onset of stroke symptoms.
Everyone can be educated about stroke. Your friends and family may rely on your best judgment to save their lives.
