Westwing Place

Westwing Place is one of the highest ranked senior care facilities in Iowa and has made this year's U.S. News and World & Report's list of best nursing homes. It is a 77-bed long-term care nursing unit. Adjoined to Genesis Medical Center, DeWitt, Westwing provides convenient access to all hospital services including radiology, laboratory, physical therapy, and the emergency department.

Westwing Place is a certified Eden Alternative Facility. The Eden philosophy works to create an enlivened environment to prevent loneliness, helplessness and boredom in long-term care facilities, with opportunities for residents to care for companion animals, children and plants.

Westwing begins a multi-phase renovation project that will give it an upgraded look deserving of its recent state and national status. Improvements will include: new vinyl flooring with a wood-like appearance; slip-resistant tile in the restrooms; new mini-blinds and cubicle curtains; new energy-efficient lighting; improved accessibility for sinks and toilets; new energy-efficient windows, vinyl wall and door protection; and, new cabinetry.
